Raising balanced, well-adjusted children is not just a walk in the park, it comes with many challenges and obstacles. Being a good parent requires you to look at yourself, your behaviour and actions. You need to acknowledge that your beliefs and example play a significant role in the way in which your child grows and develops.
The Mindful Parent Workshop is run by Rudi Viljoen, human behaviour specialist, father, coach, speaker, conservationist, adventurer and entrepreneur. The need for this program arose from the discussion around the relationship between the parents and students that join our gap year programs and gap year experiences. Rudi has specifically developed the Mindful Parenting Workshop to encompass elements, experiences and learning, aimed at parents committed to enhancing themselves in various aspects of their parenting skills and awareness. As parents, we unconsciously repeat patterns of parenting that we experienced growing up. This workshop aims to make you aware of these patterns and gives you the tools to adapt and change in order to connect with your children on a deeper level.
This is a 5-hour workshop specifically designed to challenge traditional ways of thinking, behaviour and reactions.
The focus of the workshop is to:
- Becoming solution-oriented rather than problem fixated
- Give you the tools for effective communication and the art of listening
- Help you understand the impact of your words on both you and your children
- Make you more self-aware
- Build self-esteem and self-worth
- And so much more
The Mindful Parent Workshop can be done as part of a school program or as a group session for interested parents. Should you wish to discuss the workshop and its elements, please contact Rudi directly via email on rudi@warriors.co.za or give him a call on +27 (0)82 802 0880.
